Our final project for this unit was a contour line drawing of a set still life piece. Each student created a small viewfinder window and used it to identify a composition that they liked. The goal was to use thick and thin lines to create shading, as well as work on the technical aspects of drawing various objects.
I chose this setup because I liked the balance of having objects piled in one corner while the opposite corner remained empty. From this angle the objects were stacked over one another, creating interesting contrasts and casting shadows. The difficulties that I had were in drawing the cup, specifically the ovals for the top and bottom of the cup, as well as the shading on the sticks.
